WHERE THE AZURE SEA MEETS THE PINDAN CLIFFS
Since my arrival in 1986, Broome has transformed from a sleepy hippy haven to a modern, vibrant multicultural country town. Nestled on the pristine shores of Western Australia, Broome is a photographer’s paradise like no other. With its captivating landscapes, rich cultural tapestry, and stunning coastal vistas, Broome offers a treasure trove of photographic opportunities waiting to be explored, its diverse natural wonders providing endless creative possibilities.

The heart of the town is called Chinatown and has recently had the benefit of a revitalisation project, with hundreds of plants and trees planted to create beautiful shady outdoor eating areas. The 2 main streets are lined with cafes, restaurants, clothing boutiques, and pearl emporiums.
Broome caters to tourists which flock here in their thousands during the winter of Australia where temperatures are perfect for either laying on the infamous Cable beach or exploring the Kimberley.
Broome’s wet season provides so many opportunities with lightning shows, cyclonic storms and stunning sunset and sunrise skies. Although some people lock their doors and hide inside, the fury of natures elements fill me with excitement. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. One thing I should mention is that these photos colours are as the eye saw them and have not been photoshopped.
As a web designer and photographer, I am passionate about protecting Broome and the Kimberley which seems to be constantly under threat by big mining companies and pro development lobbyists. Broome is a magical place to live not only for its community but its pristine environment.

ENTRANCE POINT
Entrance Point is located between the Fishing Club and the Broome Port. It has a carpark that leads to two boat ramps.
The rock formations around this area are truly stunning, and in the wet season the sunsets are breath taking. To the left of entrance point is another amazing beach called Simpsons Beach (near the hovercraft) and to the right is the beautiful Reddell Beach.
The diverse and pristine reef near the Broome Wharf is currently under threat by pro development groups, Read more

CHINATOWN
Chinatown has evolved over the years, transitioning from a hub of pearl sheds, billiard saloons, opium dens, and brothels to a modern center for retail and dining. Today, visitors can explore historic sites like Sun Pictures, one of the world’s oldest operating picture gardens, and experience the charm of its corrugated iron buildings, which now house cafes, pearling shops and retail businesses.
